Prophecy Tennis is a fantasy game created for friends of our East London Tennis community and beyond, as a way to engage players off the court and promote more social interaction. Everyone is welcome and we hope to get together to watch some of the Grand Slam finals from now on.

Prophecy Tennis is a not for profit initiative and all funds received are spent in running the game and purchasing winner prizes.

It's a new year and a new tennis season. After completing our first 3 Grand Slam Prophecy Tennis competitions, we are now back with our first Australian Open Edition in 2025. This Edition will be for Men and Women's Singles Tournaments.
How it works :
  • Participants must complete this form registering their interest before Saturday 11th January.
  • Registered players will receive their sheets with the draw(s) to be filled out from Friday 10th January.
  • Draws must be completed before the first match starts, on Sunday 12th January at 12am GMT due to matches starting at 11am local time.
  • Payment must be completed before the tournament begins.
  • Prizes are dependent on the number of participants so make sure to invite your friends too!
  • Prizes for top scorers, but be prepared for surprises along the way.
Rules :
  • You must select every single one of the 127 matches in the draw, predicting the winners for each match and the amount of sets played, 3, 4 or 5 sets for mens, and for womens 2 or 3 sets.
  • If there are any changes/withdrawals to the draw after the spreadsheet has been created, and there are replacement Lucky Losers put into the tournament, we will be updating the draws as a like for like replacement in your predicted draws after submission.
  • You score 1 point for every winning prediction in the 1st Round, 2 points on every win in the 2nd Round, 3 points in the 3rd Round and so on (4th Round/R16 = 4 points; Quarterfinals = 5 points; Semifinals = 6 points, and all the way to the Final, 7 points).
  • You score 1 Bonus point for every match that you predict the correct number of sets, even if you missed the winning prediction. E.g. You predict player A to win against player B in 3 sets, but instead Player B wins in 3 sets, you'd still score a bonus point.
  • From the 2nd Round onwards, you only need your predicted winner to be in a match to score points. E.g. You predict Carlos Alcaraz to defeat Andy Murray in the 2nd Round, but Andy Murray lost his 1st Round match to Stan Wawrinka. You can still win points if Carlos Alcaraz defeats Stan Wawrinka in that 2nd Round match.
Top tips :
  • Special attention should be given to the first three rounds where the most amount of points can be scored. (In the 1st Round there will be 64 matches played: 64 potential winners points + 64 potential bonus points).
  • Checkout the Head2Head search on ATP/WTA websites, which shows players' most recent form, plus their surface specialities.
  • Take your time! Check whether your forgot to select a player or the amount of sets played. This happened in Prophecy Tennis #1 and it might cost you in the end.
  • You don't need to predict the right final, or champion to win Prophecy Tennis. As mentioned before most of points are scored within the first three rounds.
